Mineral Exploration and Development, Survey Form
The purpose of this web page is to provide information that will assist you in completing the Survey of Mineral Exploration, Deposit Appraisal and Mine Complex Development Expenditures.
NRCan collects and publishes statistics on mineral exploration, development, and production under the Resources and Technical Surveys Act.
The survey form needs to be completed twice every year. In the fall, the survey allows us to obtain preliminary estimates for the current year and the intention of spending for the coming year. In the spring, the survey serves to collect actual spending for the previous year and the revised intentions for the current year.

Survey of Mineral Exploration, Deposit Appraisal and Mine Complex Development Expenditures: 2025 Annual and 2026 Revised Intentions Form
Please fill out a survey form for each province and territory in which your company generates expenses towards mineral exploration, deposit appraisal and mine complex development.
The survey form is offered in two different file formats: Excel and fillable PDF. You can choose either of them.

To view and edit the survey form, please save it to a local folder prior to opening the form. To do so, right-click on either Excel or PDF , select "Save link as" and choose the location of the file.

To send the completed survey form by email
To avoid errors when sending your surveys to the Mineral Exploration Statistics Office , save each completed survey individually and email only one file at a time. Due to the size limit for incoming emails at Natural Resources Canada, your email may be rejected if you send more than one file in a single email.
